Summer Soda ShopIf you happen to live in Utah or Arizona, you're definitely aware of the trend regarding soda mix ins. If you're not, you have the opportunity to be a trend setter! I've tried dozens of combos & today I'm sharing my family's favorite four. My friend first introduced me to the Dirty Diet Coke & I like our version of it so much, I can't even buy it at the actual soda shops. It's the perfect twist to enjoy...you know, poolside! This pregnancy, I haven't been enjoying my Diet Coke as much as normal, so I expanded my soda mixing to find another drink that refreshes. Not sure if it's the hot summer weather that has me craving something else, or the pregnancy in general. Good news is I've found a substitute I've been loving on major. I call it the Strawberry Spritz and the base of it is Pellegrino Sparkling water. It's the perfect treat on a hot afternoon. My kids love pulling out all the sodas + syrups when we have a house full of kids post swimming. We typically serve them up in styrofoam cups with pebble ice + straws...because, well it makes it taste better, right? This day though we were all out of our favorite cups, so we got a little fancy...something my Liv is always a fan of. My kids all have their own favorites that we've created over the last couple months. This one tastes like an orange cream popsicle & is always a crowd favorite. I'm pretty sure kids think I'm magic when I mix this up for them. No need to let them know how easy it is. Max always goes for a Cherry Limeade...and sometimes I steal it from him.
I've included our 4 favorite recipes, but we've tried so many other delicious combos, so don't be afraid to make up your own! The half + half is almost always optional -- it gives the flavor a bit of depth, but if you're watching calories, feel free to omit it, or if you realize how much you like it, feel free to add it anywhere! Root beer or Dr. Pepper + Salted Carmel Syrup is another good combo.

Hi, I'm Amy. When I'm not scouring the valley for the perfect new house, you can usually find me in the kitchen with a gaggle of kids. Chips, salsa and a Diet Coke are usually in hand. Categories
