It's been well over 5 years since we've had a baby on the scene over here, and as such, well we started with nothing on hand. With exception of the crib & dresser -- which my daughter had been using (it turns into a bed) we were starting from scratch. Turns out, when it comes to baby items, I'm a bit of a minimalist. Perhaps its because I know its our last that I'm not willing to dive in head first to gobs of gear? I even had a sweet neighbor offer me up all of her swings, bouncers and the like & I had to politely decline -- the thought of all that gear terrified me, I hoping I don't regret it. But really, I don't do clutter well.
That being said, there are a few items that I don't think I could live without, like this Solly Baby wrap. I never wrapped any of my other kids & this has been a Godsend. Really. Having baby 4, means there is about zero slowing down. Homework, lunches, practices & dinner still have to happen. It's kind of like trying to stop a freight train: not happening. So when Luke is up & fussy & dinner needs to get made? Well here he sits. On this day ^^ he accompanied me to other kids' doctor appointments & we didn't hear a peep. Brilliant. This sleeper from Target is where Luke sleeps every single night & it is the hands down BEST!!! I had bought one after my friend, Jenny swore by it and then had another friend that just had her last baby text me & tell me I had to borrow this. So I returned the one I bought & am using hers. It keeps him cradled & on his back, rocks and provides some white noise when it gets a little loud upstairs #always. These gowns, blankets & car seat covers. sigh. Luke lived in the gowns the first 4 weeks of his life...and perhaps still, the blankets are the softest (even got each of my bigs one for Christmas...shhh) and you can't be having a baby in the fall without a car seat cover. This pacifier. None of my babies have ever taken a pacifier until this one showed up as a gift from my sweet aunt. I was trying to avoid a stuffed animal hanging from his mouth, but he loves it, so what do I care? If I'm being honest, I find it darling dangling from his mouth these days. This sleepsack. Luke happens to love his tummy and I was tempted to just let him go ahead and sleep like that...and then I couldn't sleep. I know he'll probably end up there one day, but I had visions of worst case scenarios so I set about finding a solution for while he's so young. I happened to be at Target & thought I'd give the swaddles a whirl -- thanks for voting on IG stories & helping me decide...I got both. :) . I like the Swaddle Me version just fine, but I like this one best. It keeps him nice & snug, putting a bit of pressure on his tummy & he sleeps great in it...and his cozy little bed. Fingers crossed he starts sleeping through the night here soon.

Hi, I'm Amy. When I'm not scouring the valley for the perfect new house, you can usually find me in the kitchen with a gaggle of kids. Chips, salsa and a Diet Coke are usually in hand. Categories
